“I’ve been coming to this church almost every day for 10 years. When I don’t come here, my mind is in a different world. Being an addict, I forget God.

But I’m a child of God. I’ve come through the trenches. You know why? Cause I’ve got the shield. This [church] is where I come back and I’m at peace with myself. We need you especially now, because of this virus. I know you guys can’t even do all the things you want to do. Unless people support the church, we’re back to square one.

We were promised all these things: hotel rooms, shelter. I’m sleeping in stairwells and boiler rooms. When you guys are here and you’re open, you help us get through these hard times. You’re going to do whatever it takes. That’s why I love coming here. I leave here full of good.”
